10 Self Improvement Quotes for Motivation and Self Esteem

Bring back the life within and start living, dare to dream – “Stand Proud” By Leisa Timms. Inspirational Quotes to Improve One Self

Don’t contemplate change, make it happen. Laughter and fun is indeed the best medicine there is. There is nothing better than a good belly laugh, even to the point of nearly wetting your pants. Despite what's been happening in life, it's better to laugh while facing your troubles with a clear mind than anger with a clouded vision. The key is to not take life so seriously, we need to lighten up and enjoy life on a simpler level. Let’s for just one moment pop the bubble we are in and start thinking outside the box. That tight enclosed feeling we all get now and then because of the hectic lifestyles we live is suffocating us.

Let's look at 10 fantastic quotes to improve one self!

1. “Do not anticipate trouble or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight.” By Benjamin Franklin.

2. “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” By Ralph Waldo Emerson

3. “Do not judge and you will never be mistaken” By Jean-Jacques Rousseau

4. “Do what you say so others will say what you do.” By Robert H. Connelly

5. “Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who are alive.” By Howard Thurman

6. “Don’t be pushed by your problems; be led by your dreams – Live the life with in, dare to dream and stand proud.” By Leisa Timms

7. “Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” By John Wooden

8. “Every Second you spend thinking about someone else’s dreams you take time away from your own.” By Geoffrey F. Abert

9. “Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, Tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.” By Groucho Marx

10. “Edison Failed 10,000 times before he made the electric light. Do not be discouraged if you fail a few times.” By Napoleon Hill

Have you Checked your Confidence Levels Lately - 10 Questions to ask yourself

"The More you lose yourself in something bigger than yourself, the more energy you will have". Norman Vincent Peal.

Today lets talk about our Confidence Levels.

Would you like to be confident? Your answer may be - yes; I do want to be confident. However, this answer lacks the impact. It is too generalized. Just like everybody wants to do well in life and be rich but not many ever realize this wish. This is because to actually get somewhere in life, you need to quantify your confidence. You need to define the task for which you need to be confident so that you can execute it successfully.  A mere wish to be confident won’t take you anywhere. The dream must have a deadline as well!  There are simple steps to help you assist in these steps, by setting short and long term goals!

Self Confidence differs for each individual. For a child it might mean to be able to recite the poem to her teacher the next morning. For a business executive it might mean to be able to present the business report to the Board of Directors. For a salaried person it may be the ability to be able to make a switch over from his secure job to a new independent venture and so on. To execute their respective tasks, these people need a certain level of confidence, which would see them through. Every task requires a minimum level of confidence to be able to be executed. Do you have a task in your mind to be done? Do you have the level of confidence required? Let us check it out!

Following is a simple questionnaire. You have to answer to these in a YES or NO

1.      Does it happen too often with you that you cannot make a decision all by yourself and you seem to look for your colleagues, friends, or your spouse to sort the matter for you? Be honest!
2.      Do you always seem to be in perpetual need of a support system wherein you can feel secure?
3.      Do you just sit and listen all the times in your office meetings?
4.    Do you feel difficulty in reporting a matter to your boss or you have an excellent idea that can improve your company’s efficiency but you cannot muster enough courage to go and talk about it to your Boss?
5.     Are you terrified to meet someone new? Is public speaking your worst nightmare?
6.   Do you timidly accept orders from your superior even though you know that you are already overloaded and you need to say no?
7.      Are you excessively concerned about what other people think of you?
8.      Do you fear taking risks?
9.      Do you feel dissatisfied about your appearance?
10.  Are you uncomfortable in social gatherings – being amongst lots of people?

I myself didn't answer yes to all of these questions, but I could definitely see I was a little more reserved than most.  There were area's I needed to work on especially within my career.  After throwing myself into a Personal Development and Leadership program, I found myself jumping out of my skin.  I had so much more courage to move forward with my life.  I stepped outside the box and really started to think independently about what I really wanted in life.

* I quit Smoking
* I lost and maintained a weight loss of over 24 kilo's
* I dug up all of my dreams and brought them back to life
* I was promoted at work in Finance and accounting
* I went after what I loved & started studying in the fitness industry, became a Zumba /  Fitness Coach
* Started my own business around my passions in the Personal Development / Leadership Industry

If you happened to have answered Yes to any of the above questions, you seem to have a lack of confidence also that might become an obstacle in successfully executing your tasks. Don’t Panic, as it is good that you found out since now you are aware of a potential challenges of your life. The very fact that you are aware of your confidence rating makes you ready to take further action and work towards eliminating the negative effects of low confidence levels and work towards building your self confidence.

Being Grateful to Parents that give back to those less fortunate - Grand Parents Support

Since Studying in the Personal Development Industry and Running my own Home Based Business, it has made me realise just how inspirational my parents are in the lives of many!  Giving back to those that are less fortunate.
Throughout my childhood I was surrounded by lots of Foster children and a full house, it was definitely full of fun and laughter.  I have two adopted sisters that came into my life when I was 12 and then again at 19.  They were saved from a Korean Orphanage :).  I also have 1 biological Brother.
The story that made me realise people can change lives:
As a child I grew up in a small country Town in the Hunter Valley NSW.  Once all of the kids had grown up, my parents decided it was time for a change and to move on.  They decided to have a garage sale, sell everything off really cheap and start a Fresh.
There was 1 young lady that came several times to collect a majority of the house hold goods, my mother spoke with her and said that she had the most amazing smile.   On the last pickup this young lady turned to my mother and said; you don’t remember me do you? My mother said you seem very familiar but I just can’t picture you.  This young girl ended up being 1 of the Foster kids that my parents took in for a period of 4 years from the age of 4 to 8 (now 23)….. My parents had made such a huge impact on her life that she wanted to keep as much as possible as a reminder of a time in her life she felt safe.  My mother was in tears and felt so blessed that she could help!
It is amazing the people we affect in our lives and not even really know or understand the impact we can have. My Studies through out my own Personal Development and Leadership journey have made me really appreciate a lot more and I am so grateful for all that I have.
Thank you to my wonderful parents for inspiring me in so many different ways.  You have always loved, supported and given praise, you deserve it back.  Thank you!
Share something that has inspired you in life!
